A Human hybrid and an Alpha Were claw against the bonds of fate in the highly anticipated companion novel to the Sunday Times and New York Times bestseller Bride.

Serena Paris is orphaned, pack-less, and one of a kind. Coming forward as the first Human-Were hybrid was supposed to heal a centuries-long rift between species. Instead, it made her a target, prey to the ruthless political machinations between Weres, Vampyres, and Humans. With her enemies closing in on her, she has only one option left – if he’ll have her.

As Alpha of the Northwest pack, Koen Alexander commands obedience. His authority is so absolute, only a fool would threaten his mate. It doesn’t matter if Serena doesn’t reciprocate his feelings, nothing will stop him from keeping her safe.

But power-hungry Vampyres and Weres are not the only threats chasing Serena. Sooner or later, her past is bound to catch up with her – and Koen might be the only thing standing between her and total annihilation…

Mothers and fathers use their time differently, with women spending roughly twice as many hours on family labor as men. But what about the gendered differences in the ways women and men think? What’s on Her Mind provides an illuminating look at the cognitive labor that families depend on and reveals why this essential aspect of family life is disproportionately handled by women—even in couples that aspire to practice equality.

While most accounts of household labor center on how people use their time, Allison Daminger focuses on a less visible and less easily quantifiable aspect of family life. She introduces readers to the concept of cognitive labor—anticipating, researching, deciding, and following up—and shows how women in different-gender couples do most of this critical work. She argues that cognitive labor has less to do with personality traits—for example, she’s type A while he’s laid-back—and more to do with learned skills that men and women deploy in distinct ways. Yet not all couples fall into the personality trap. Daminger looks at different-gender couples who achieve a more balanced cognitive allocation while also exploring how queer couples carve out unique relationships to the gender binary.

Drawing on original, in-depth interviews with members of different- and same-gender couples, What’s on Her Mind points to new ways of understanding the interplay between who we are as individuals and the cognitive work we do on behalf of our families.

“More than just a book – it’s a lifeline for any parent“

This is a guide that has been developed to help those responsible for the wellbeing of children experiencing school-based anxiety. It aims to provide support for coping with school refusal and anxiety, using strategies that have been tried, tested, and found to be effective.

“As a parent of a neuro-diverse child at secondary school, who sometimes struggles with getting there, we found this book was perfectly pitched. It has given me a greater understanding. Full of great strategies for both us and our child. Easy to dip in and dip out of when needed, or read cover to cover if you prefer.” Excerpt from Foreword – by Lisa Spiegel, MA LMHC, Author of Internal Family Systems Therapy with Children

Dr. Claire Stubbs and her co-authors, Hollie and Kit Szabo, have created an easy-to-read and beautifully illustrated handbook for understanding and supporting children who resist or refuse to go to school. Using brain science and an Internal Family Systems approach, this guide brings a compassionate and intelligent lens to see school refusal as a protective mechanism rather than just acting-out behavior.

‘Action-packed, brilliantly unique‘ – Andy Weir, author of The Martian

A compulsive, mind-bending exploration of memory and what it means to be human, Recursion is a breathtaking thriller from the author of Dark Matter, Blake Crouch.

At first, it looks like a disease.

An epidemic that spreads through no known means, driving its victims mad with memories of a life they never lived.

But the force that’s sweeping the world is no pathogen. It’s just the first shockwave, unleashed by a stunning discovery – and what’s in jeopardy is not just our minds.

In New York City, Detective Barry Sutton is closing in on the truth – and in a remote laboratory, neuroscientist Helena Smith is unaware that she alone holds the key to this mystery . . . and the tools for fighting back.

Together, Barry and Helena will have to confront their enemy – before they, and the world, are trapped in a loop of ever-growing chaos.

‘Recursion takes mind-twisting premises and embeds them in a deeply emotional story about time and loss and grief and most of all, the glory of the human heart’ – Gregg Hurwitz, author of Orphan X

Readers are blown away by Recursion . . .

‘An unbelievably good read’
‘The stakes are colossal, the characters are the perfect propelling forces of the story, and the big reveals are placed at exactly the right moments’
‘I couldn’t put it down, I had to know what happened next’

Learn how to write and give a flawlessly funny speech for any occasion with Emmy-winning comedy writers Carol Leifer and Rick Mitchell. With a foreword by Carol Burnett.

Giving a speech about someone is hard. Giving a funny speech that people are actually going to pay attention to is even harder. In How to Write a Funny Speech for a Wedding, Bar Mitzvah, Graduation & Every Other Event You Didn’t Want to Go to in the First Place, Leifer and Mitchell will teach you how to write the perfect speech so you can look awesome, make some people laugh, and get it over with.

Quick and easy to use, this book is broken into short chapters full of priceless tips and advice. Leifer and Mitchell will walk you through how to:

Properly write, phrase, and deliver your speech so you not only flatter your subject but also keep the rest of the audience interested (and maybe you’ll even get a standing ovation, but we can’t guarantee that—that would be cool, though, right?).

Nail down how to get started so people actually pay attention to you (in a good way).

Figure out how to deliver and perfect comedic nuances with a crash course in what you should and shouldn’t say so you don’t scare the compression socks off grandma.

Hear from these seasoned comedy writers as they dish out public speaking advice that will make you look like you totally do this all the time. Take a closer look at a handful of successful real‑life speeches from real‑life people, annotated for a better understanding of why other people were better than you so you can be better than them. Enjoy bonus content like Carmela’s retirement toast to Tony Soprano and Homer Simpson’s speech at Bart’s graduation. And if, in the end, you still have no idea what to say about your niece at her Bat Mitzvah, there’s a handy fill-in speech template at the back so you can spend more time figuring out what you’re going to wear.

AN INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER! A USA TODAY BEST BOOK OF THE YEAR

“A remarkably intimate and insistently human chronicle of a moral authority’s coming of age.” —The New York Times

This is not the story you think you know. It’s the one I’ve been waiting to tell.

Thrust onto the public stage at fifteen years old after the Taliban’s brutal attack on her life, Malala Yousafzai quickly became an international icon known for bravery and resilience. But away from the cameras and crowds, she spent years struggling to find her place in an unfamiliar world. Now, for the first time ever, Malala takes us beyond the headlines in Finding My Way—a vulnerable, surprising memoir that buzzes with authenticity, sharp humor, and tenderness.

Finding My Way is a story of friendship and first love, of anxiety and self-discovery, of trying to stay true to yourself when everyone wants to tell you who you are. In it, Malala traces her path from high school loner to reckless college student to a young woman at peace with her past. Through candid, often messy moments like nearly failing exams, getting ghosted, and meeting the love of her life, Malala reminds us that real role models aren’t perfect—they’re human.

In this astonishing memoir, Malala reintroduces herself to the world, sharing how she navigated life as someone whose darkest moments threatened to define her narrative—while seeking the freedom to find out who she truly is. Finding My Way is an intimate look at the life of a young woman taking charge of her destiny—and a deeply personal testament to the strength it takes to be unapologetically yourself.

Remind dad that he’s doing a great job (at least compared to the likes of pop culture and historical dads, like Darth Vader and Pharaoh Akhenaten) with this perfect gift for every father from the New York Times bestselling author of There Are Moms Way Worse Than You.

Following up on the success of Glenn Boozan’s viral gift book, There Are Moms Way Worse Than You: Irrefutable Proof that You Are Indeed a Fantastic Parent, the dad’s companion book sets out to prove to dads all over the world that, however bad they think they are at parenting, there are dads way worse. While Moms Way Worse highlighted creatures across the animal kingdom who are terrible at parenting, Dads Way Worse showcases fictional dads (and their parenting failures) across history and in popular culture. What dad would think he’s doing poorly when compared to Jack from The Shining, Tywin Lannister from Game of Thrones, or…Walter White from Breaking Bad?:

It’s fine if at a barbecue, your “Grill Dad” skills are green
As long as what you’re cooking isn’t methamphetamine!

Or Darth Vader:

Oops! Forgot their bathtime? Mess up a mid-day snack?
Better than a cauterizing light saber attack.

The pages include plenty of Easter eggs for the true pop-culture nerds and history buffs, plus an informative and hilarious appendix that expands on the faults and foibles of the dads featured within. Boozan’s rhymed couplets, paired with Witte’s clever illustrations, make There Are Dads Way Worse Than You the perfect gift for fathers with a great sense of humor and a penchant for pop culture.

You might not make the Guinness Book for parenting the best—
But even so, your kid believes you’re better than the rest.
